Interra has many peculiarities. These are both the form of holding events and the openness of
the festival space. In a night club you can easily run into an academician who will be giving a
lecture. People listening to this lecture may not know chalk from cheese in physics, but know the
value of physics for the modern world. It is a dialogue of intelligent and creative people.
The first Interra had to be prepared in a very short time, so the fact that the Forum was held
seems a big achievement to me. Not only was it held, but became one of the most significant
events for Novosibirsk and the Region. The results of the Forum became part of our lives.
Several plants are implementing industrial projects that were initiated at the Interra Forum.
Interra made innovation companies the focus of attention of investors and authorities, which is a
very important result.
In the near future the Center of Contemporary Art will be opened in Novosibirsk. A lot of new
music and theater projects which grew out of Interra are the results of the Forum. Thanks to the
Forum new groups and new discussion formats appeared in student, scientific and education
spheres. To certain extent, the appearance of specialized classes on fundamental sciences for
secondary school pupils is also Interra’s achievement.
On the whole, the results of the first Forum are rather qualitative than quantitative. Interra in
itself is a recreated environment for innovation. Broadcasting of this environment into everyday
life is the most significant result that we have achieved and wish to keep.
